Publications Now On Sale
Having now completed the 2002 reapportionment process, the Task Force has produced two new research publications. These publications provide an opportunity to learn more about your federal and state districts along with their 2000 census profile.
The first publication is called: "2002 Atlas of New York State Congressional and Legislative Districts: State Senate and State Assembly". The State's Congressional, Senate, and Assembly district maps presented in this book are based on the U. S. Census Bureau's 2000 redistricting TIGER/Line files.
Additionally, there is a demographic section containing statistical tables that breaks down each district's population by race/Hispanic origin and voting age. These tables are from the U. S. Census Bureau's official redistricting data file known as Public Law 94 - 171.
This publication also includes a CD-ROM so that you may reproduce the district maps and data that comprise the atlas.
The second publication is a three volume set called: "2002 Congressional District Profiles, 2002 State Senate District Profiles and 2002 State Assembly District Profiles". The information contained in these district profiles reflect the demographic and socio-economic changes as recorded in the 2000 Census of Population and Housing. The tables contain variables such as race, age, citizenship, ancestry, education, employment, household income, and home ownership. The data has been reformatted and aggregated to the 2002 Congressional and legislative district level from two Census Bureau Summary Files, SF1 and SF3.
The publication pricing is as follows:
- 2002 Atlas of New York State Congressional and Legislative Districts: State Senate and State Assembly (including CD-ROM):
- 2002 Congressional District Profiles, 2002 State Senate District Profiles, 2002 State Assembly District Profiles:
Additionally, the district profile publications can be purchased separately.
